Who we are

  • We’re an early-stage VC-backed start-up that has raised $9M to date from VC funds and private investors. Founded in 2019 by Florin Tufan, Mihai Vinaga and Sorina Vlasceanu, we’re currently a team of 50+ driven individuals, mostly engineers and technical people, investing our time to solve problems that haven’t been solved before anywhere in the world.

What we do

  • We’re building the single source of truth for company data across all industries. We process billions of webpages and petabytes of data every week, then apply several AI models to break them down into usable business data, developing a deep understanding of the elements that define a business.
  • This results in tens of data points associated with each company, everything from company description, alternative names, tags, business category & industry, office and retail locations, risks, size, classifications, products, certifications, and beyond.

What you‘ll do

  • You will design and build NLP models, train them iteratively, fit them on terabytes of data, and deploy them at scale in distributed Big Data systems. You will be expected to make domain-specific, data-driven decisions that directly impact outcomes.

  • Apache Spark, Apache Cassandra, HDFS, and other Big Data tools are core to this role. You don’t need instant mastery, but persistence and a proactive drive to learn are non-negotiable if you want to succeed as an ML Engineer within Veridion.

  • You will work closely with Claudiu (our Head of ML), alongside Alexandra, Alex, Eduard, and Simi– the gems who make up our ML team.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop new, novel algorithms and techniques for extracting and analyzing (very!) large and complex sets of data
  • Gather and build appropriate training datasets to create and improve models
  • Train, evaluate and deploy your models in a massive parallel environment
  • Own your ML models end-to-end, from collecting training data to deployment and monitoring in production
  • Optimize your ML solutions for the production environment
  • Use agentic workflows to quickly iterate on ideas and solutions
  • Perform statistical analysis of the real-world results of your models
  • Prototype quickly to solve thorny use cases, without getting stuck in theory, as we’re prone to shipping early and often
  • Write well-designed, testable, efficient code
  • Handle open source LLMs for data improvement, training and real time agentic workflows

Our qualifications

  • Before building Veridion (formerly Soleadify), our 3 co-founders (Sorina, Florin and Mihai) worked at companies that impacted billions of users, having been exposed to diverse areas of technology that span from full stack web development to Big Data and robust Cloud infrastructure, as well as their product and business development proficiency.
  • This broad mix, critical to a true data-driven mindset, has been imprinted in our company’s culture since day one. And it massively steps up our game as engineers.

Your qualifications

  • Previous experience creating datasets, training and optimally deploying your models
  • Proficiency with Python, as well as MySQL or any relational database
  • Extensive knowledge of ML frameworks, libraries, data structures, data modeling and software architecture
  • Knowledge of math and statistical concepts and techniques
  • Previous experience with an NLP framework (Transformers, Spacy) and ML framework (PyTorch, Sklearn, Tensorflow) would be a plus
